🛠️ About the Role:

As our Lead Facilities Technician, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero keeping all the fun running smoothly. From ensuring our rides are safe and exciting, to maintaining our interactive exhibits and cinema—your technical expertise ensures an awesome guest experience, every day.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

⚙️ Maintenance & Repair:

• Diagnose and repair a wide variety of systems including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and ride machinery 🎢.

• Perform both planned (preventative) and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize guest fun.

• Assist with exhibit setups and take-downs, shipping & receiving, F&B equipment, painting, lighting, and general upkeep 🧰.

🧼 General Facilities:

• Handle custodial tasks, wall repairs, re-lamping, and light construction as needed 🧹🪛.

• Support food & beverage maintenance and day-to-day operational needs.

🛡️ Health & Safety:

• Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety & Security policies and procedures, following Merlin Entertainments Group standards.

• Understand and act on risk assessments within the workplace.

• Promptly report any incidents, hazards, or unsafe practices.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience:

• 💼 Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a technical or themed environment (theme park, museum, FEC, etc.).

• 🎓 2+ years of technical college or equivalent education & experience.

• 🧩 Excellent troubleshooting skills across a broad range of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.

• 😎 Calm under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

🌦️ Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Work may be indoors or outdoors, and involves exposure to varying temperatures, chemicals, and noise levels.

• Must be comfortable standing/walking for long periods, lifting, bending, reaching, and handling tools or materials.

• Occasional exposure to hazardous materials, batteries, loud environments, or confined spaces.

📅 Additional Requirements:

• Flexible schedule—including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to travel occasionally for training or support at other Merlin locations.
