Are you a strategic leader with a passion for operational excellence? At LEGOLAND New York Resort, we’re seeking a Director of Planning and Business Support to play a pivotal role in ensuring our attraction runs seamlessly, balancing workforce planning, operational efficiency, and commercial success.

 

In this role, you’ll oversee the full scope of workforce planning and business support functions, ensuring our teams are well-prepared, our operations are efficient, and our guests enjoy world-class experiences. From staffing strategies and onboarding to logistics, compliance, and commercial delivery, you’ll drive the processes that keep our resort running at the highest standard.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Operational Excellence – Develop and execute staffing plans, manage absence and welfare considerations, oversee onboarding and induction, and ensure SOPs meet compliance and business goals.

  • Commercial Delivery – Lead stock control, logistics, and supplier management while aligning with global commercial strategies to enhance revenue opportunities and avoid disruptions.

  • Strategic Leadership – Mentor and inspire a multi-functional team, act as the bridge between global functions and local operations, and foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Performance & Continuous Improvement – Track performance against KPIs, identify opportunities for greater efficiency, and implement solutions that balance guest experience, team well-being, and cost effectiveness.

  • Health & Safety – Ensure compliance with Merlin Entertainments’ safety standards and oversee incident reporting, risk assessments, and continuous improvements in workplace safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive leadership experience in operational planning, workforce management, and business support—ideally within leisure, hospitality, or theme parks.

  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams and manage complex staffing and logistics operations.

  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving profitability.

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence across local and global functions.

  • A track record of data-driven decision-making, process improvements, and fostering a culture of adaptability and high performance.
