What you'll bring to the team

Scope of Job: 
Fuses the fundamentals of entertainment stage management and company management practices, with 
responsibility to lead, supervise, and take ownership of rehearsal processes and subsequent daily operation of 
their assigned show venues or experience product. This role manages multiple performances and/or multiple 
experiences each day with a focus on maintaining show quality, developing and motivating their cast and 
crew, facilitating communication, administrative responsivities and creating a harmonious work environment.

 
Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as daily leadership supporting all show and experience production processes, maintaining the artistic and technical integrity of each.
  • Oversee assigned Entertainment sections of responsibility in the park, taking functional ownership of the area.
  • Proficient in all types of Entertainment within the assigned product. These areas include, but are not limited to: atmosphere entertainment, costume character, and second stage shows.
  • Train in and be signed off to operate all Stage Manager tracks within your assigned area.
  • Complete administrative duties as assigned including but not limited to: scheduling, time keeping and payroll, performance tracking, daily show reports, show archiving and production book upkeep, updating of Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Lead, coach, and develop cast and crew including but not limited to delivering show notes, maintaining performance trackers, providing daily department and resort updates, setting team goals, and foster a positive guest experience with children as the primary focus.
  • Maintain consistent quality and processes for operation responsibilities such as rehearsal and show reports, morning start up notes, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Develops assigned team members through team building, praise, coaching, training, and discipline, providing accountability to Model Citizens for Resort-wide and department-specific policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring all employee performance trackers and issuing any corrective action at or beyond a Written Corrective Action.
  • Work with Entertainment Specialist to place orders, maintain consumables for operation, and complete other ordering duties as needed or assigned.

  • Attend meetings as assigned, take notes and support Operations’ needs.
  • Work with Management to ensure a smooth transition from pre-production into rehearsals with Stage Managers and/or be responsible for sitting in rehearsals.
  • Notes department deficiencies, creates an action plan to address, and leads improvement projects. This includes upkeep within venues assigned and following up with park partners.
  • Be continued advocate for safety. Assist upkeeping risk assessments regularly.
  • Advocate and actively participate in maintaining a safe, fun, and professional work environment for all Entertainment teams by being an active and engaged leader.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Background and Experience: 
    Minimum 2 years practical Stage Management experience or a similar combination of theme park/entertainment industry leadership experience.
  • Must have excellent organizational, problem solving and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of entertainment shows, event and experience logistics, including but not limited to: basic theatrical lighting and audio systems, basic playback control, theming and scenic familiarity, production books, standard operational and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in theatre or related field or equivalent professional experience within Entertainment/Theatre/Theme Park industry preferred. 

 

People: 
Managers and employees will have consistent communication and meetings with this role (i.e. schedules, payroll, and training). Promote and demonstrate LEGO and Merlin’s culture and core values through words and actions with Stage Managers leading by example. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, effectively managing and documenting employee relations.

 
Health & Safety: 
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate. 

 

Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.

 
Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time, to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures, climates inside and outside, as well as in direct and indirect sunlight.

 
Work Environment:

  • Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

 
Other Job Requirements:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends to support Resort operations.
  • Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.

Pay Range

USD $21.50/Hr.
