As Retail Supervisor, you will provide front-line leadership of the daily retail operations, ensuring the health, safety, and satisfaction of both guests and staff. You will lead by example with hands-on, shoulder-to-shoulder leadership to inspire and motivate your team, delivering exceptional retail experiences while driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the best-in-class example on the floor in all assigned commercial retail areas.
Lead and coach the Retail Team to consistently meet or exceed guest service KPIs and Mystery Visit targets.
Support initial and ongoing training programs to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
Collaborate with the Retail Manager on labor scheduling and budgeting to meet operational needs.
Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and ordering programs, including occasional evening and night shifts.
Act as Duty Manager as needed, overseeing the operation of multiple departments on the floor.
Provide mentorship, motivation, and real-time feedback to your team to foster a positive, guest-obsessed culture.
Manage guest complaints and operational challenges swiftly and professionally.
Monitor visual appeal and operational effectiveness, making continuous improvement recommendations.
Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and performance management of Retail Team members.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational policies, maintaining accurate records in relevant systems.
Lead daily team briefings, communicate policies clearly, and promote Merlin’s core values throughout the team.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, technical operation, and safety across retail areas.
Encourage and reward innovation and teamwork among Retail Team members.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in retail, visitor attractions, or similar environments.
Proven ability to maintain high service levels in busy, high-pressure settings.
Strong people management, communication, and leadership skills.
Excellent sales skills and attention to detail.
Experience with computerized till systems and inventory management.
Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
