🐙 Job Purpose:

As a Host – Animal Welfare, you’ll be an essential part of our Displays team, assisting Aquarists in daily care of our marine and freshwater creatures. From prepping delicious diets for our animals to diving into exhibits and educating guests about ocean conservation, this role is perfect for someone passionate about animal welfare, aquatic environments, and delivering a magical guest experience.

🌟 What You'll Be Doing:

• 🐡 Prepare and deliver daily diets to our aquatic residents

• 🧼 Keep habitats clean and healthy (front and back-of-house)

• 💧 Assist with water testing and maintaining excellent water quality

• 🤿 Dive into exhibits (with our dive team) for cleaning, maintenance, and guest interaction

• 🎤 Present engaging, educational talks about animals and ocean conservation

• 🧪 Record keeping for aquarium systems, animal health, and dive logs

• 🧽 Maintain dive gear and animal care equipment

• 🌊 Support with exhibit development and long-term animal care goals

• 😄 Interact with guests, help answer questions, and create memorable moments

🐬 Your Fin-tastic Qualities:

• Passionate about marine life and animal care 🦑

• Comfortable around water (and sometimes fish poop 🐠💩)

• Detail-oriented, organized, and safety-focused 🧯

• Great communicator and team player 🗣️🤝

• Willing to get your hands (and fins!) dirty in the name of animal welfare 🧤

🎓 Education & Experience:

• Working toward a degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Marine Biology, Zoology, Psychology) OR relevant experience in aquariums/zoo animal care

• SCUBA Certification (Rescue Diver preferred; minimum Advanced Open Water) 🤿

• Experience in public/guest service is a huge plus 🎉

🕒 Work Hours & Perks:

• Flexible scheduling – weekends, holidays, and occasional nights may be required

• Must be able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weight, and work in cold/fresh/marine water
