Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the facilities project management team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the facilities project management team, you will play a major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun and safe environment for our guests with a focus on safety, ensuring that our equipment and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest levels possible.

 The Facilities Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and maintenance projects across the LEGOLAND Florida Resort. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals in construction management, engineering, or related fields who are eager to gain hands-on project experience in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

This role requires a high level of cross-functional coordination, working closely with internal departments, external contractors, vendors, and regulatory entities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with LEGOLAND®’s operational and safety standards. The Facilities Project Manager partners directly with the Head of Facilities to develop and issue RFPs (Requests for Proposals) in alignment with LEGOLAND®’s Project Management Policy and capital planning procedures.

Additionally, this position ensures that all facilities projects adhere to LEGOLAND®’s detailed brand standards, contributing to a cohesive, immersive, and visually consistent guest experience across all Parks and Hotels.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of leading projects from concept through closeout in a dynamic, guest-centric environment. This Project Manager will be primarily responsible for projects across all current and future properties at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, including LEGOLAND® Theme Park, LEGOLAND® Water Park, Peppa Pig Theme Park, SEA LIFE Florida, and three onsite hotels: LEGOLAND® Hotel, LEGOLAND® Pirate Island Hotel, and LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat.

 

 

 

Budget and Cost Management:

    • Partner with the Head of Facilities in managing project budgets.
    • Support invoice review, change order documentation, and purchase order processing.
    • Maintain accurate records of project expenditures and assist in tracking against approved budgets.
    • Process invoices related to facility projects.

 

Communication and Reporting:

    • Serve as a point of contact between project stakeholders, including facilities management, contractors, and external vendors.
    • Partner with the Head of Facilities in preparing and presenting project reports, including cost tracking, timelines, and Legoland Florida Park impacts.
    • Maintain detailed project logs, progress reports, and visual documentation (photos, drawings, checklists).
    • Prepare and distribute project updates to internal stakeholders, including status reports and milestone tracking.
    • Coordinate communication across departments (Facilities, Operations, Safety, Creative, etc.).

 

Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Ensure projects comply with local codes, permitting requirements, ADA regulations, and internal policies.
    • Support on-site safety coordination during active construction and ensure use of proper PPE and procedures.
    • Assist in documenting inspections, permits, and corrective actions.

 

 

Post-Project Evaluation:

    • Assist with post-project evaluations to ensure quality standards are met and address any issues or maintenance needs.
    • Assist in performing project close-out activities, including final inspections and punch lists.
    • Gather feedback from stakeholders and vendors to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
    • Contribute to post-project reports, including budget reconciliation and performance evaluations.
  • Project Planning & Execution:

      • Keep Safety as #1 priority
      • Coordinate with Head of Facilities in all matters
      • Organize and prioritize incoming work based on park and department needs on a day-to-day basis
      • Assist in the planning and coordination of small to mid-sized construction and maintenance projects within the resort.
      • Support the development of scopes of work, schedules, and resource plans.
      • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs to monitor progress and address issues.
      • Collaborate with internal departments to minimize operational disruptions during construction activities.
      • Track project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
      • Organize and maintain project documentation, including contracts, blueprints, and schedules.

     

    Vendor and Contractor Management:

      • Identify and hire contractors, suppliers, and vendors for various facility projects.
      • Support the solicitation of bids and review of contractor proposals.
      • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure proper scheduling and delivery of materials and services.
      • Assist in managing day-to-day contractor performance, ensuring adherence to LEGOLAND standards and timelines.
      • Monitor contractor compliance with site access, safety procedures, and reporting requirements.
      • Conduct pre-bid walks, review bids, negotiate terms, and oversee contract compliance.
      • Ensure all third-party work complies with park safety standards and operational timelines.
      • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure quality control.

     


     

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, project coordination, or construction.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, drawings, and building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook); exposure to scheduling or PM software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Time management from Office – Field; Both require equal responsibility

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management certification or similar credentials.
  • Internship or co-op experience in a construction, engineering, or facilities environment.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes, building codes, and basic contract documents.
  • Knowledge of theme park, resort, or hospitality facility environments is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
