What you'll bring to the team

 

The Costume Associate is responsible for issuing uniform to all LEGOLAND Florida Resort employees who are required it. This includes laundering, data entry into the uniform software system, and alerting the Wardrobe Manager to any gaps in stock. The role of costumer also issues all IDs for the park. Working within the entertainment department, the costumer maintains costume cleanliness and set up of costumes for live shows and characters. Basic sewing repairs on both uniform and costume must be conducted. Assist with and monitor all areas in the Costume/Wardrobe area by performing the following duties.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Issue Wardrobe on an as-needed basis to Employees (Model Citizens)
  • Perform computer entries for issuance of garments and record garments returned.
  • Maintain knowledge concerning what constitutes a complete outfit for each area and issue accordingly.
  • Receive wardrobe back from employees and inventory stock.
  • Count new inventory as it arrives and stores in correct place.
  • Keep department area clean and ensure all wardrobe items are put away or hung in the appropriate place.
  • Handle incoming laundry from Entertainment Venues across the resort.
  • Put laundry into washing machine, remove laundry from washing machine, put laundry into dryer, fold, and put away laundry.
  • Act as Costumer during show set ups or dressing role as needed.
  • Basic sewing ability a plus, such as hemming and basic hand sewing. Knowledge of industrial sewing machines a huge plus.
  • Take ownership, looking for new ways to use space efficiently, and speed the process of issuing garments.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the park employees.

Qualifications & Experience

One year of experience as a Costume Dresser or Wardrobe Issue Attendant in a theme park, theatre, hotel, resort or other closely related field is highly desirable, but not required. Requires good interpersonal skills, must be polite, friendly and outgoing. Must be a team player, who works well with others. Good verbal and written communication skills are important. Requires the ability to self-initiate activities and coordinate daily tasks, should be able to work with a minimum of supervision. Must be organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Computer proficiency is necessary. Basic math skills are required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

 

Enrollment in a College program leading to a degree in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Costuming is highly desirable. Completion of any certified programs having to do with costuming or textiles are a plus.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit or stand for sustained periods of time, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the resort site and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

Pay Range

USD $13.50/Hr.
