The Wardrobe Manager will oversee all aspects of uniform management for [insert attraction here] ensuring that staff members are provided with high-quality, well-maintained, and compliant uniforms that align with the park’s brand and operational standards. This role is responsible for uniform issuance, laundry management, small repairs, lost uniform recharges, and maintaining uniform standards across the resort. The Wardrobe Manager will also be responsible for leading and managing a team to ensure efficient operation and timely delivery of uniform services.
Key Responsibilities:
· Uniform Issue & Distribution: Oversee the uniform issuance process for all staff, ensuring that every team member receives the correct uniform sizes and quantities based on departmental needs. Maintain accurate records of uniform stock, issues, and returns.
· Laundry Management: Supervise and manage the laundry operations to ensure uniforms are cleaned, pressed, and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. Collaborate with laundry service providers (if applicable) or internal laundry teams to ensure timely and efficient processing. Ensure that uniforms are returned on time and are free of defects or wear.
· Small Repairs & Maintenance: Coordinate the repair and maintenance of uniforms and any on site costumes, including minor repairs (e.g., stitching, button replacement) to ensure uniforms remain in good condition. Develop and implement a system for managing uniform repairs, ensuring a quick turnaround.
· Lost Uniform Recharge: Manage the lost uniform process, tracking any lost items and ensuring staff are charged appropriately for missing uniforms. Develop a system for efficient tracking and management of lost items and recharges.
· Uniform Standards & Quality Control: Ensure that all uniforms meet the resort’s brand and operational standards for appearance, quality, and functionality. Work with the design and planning teams to ensure that uniform designs are appropriate for staff roles and are comfortable, functional, and consistent with the park’s image. Maintain a uniform policy and ensure that all employees are adhering to uniform standards.
· Stock Management & Ordering: Maintain uniform inventory levels, ensuring that stocks are replenished in a timely manner to prevent shortages. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure uniforms are ordered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
· Staff Training & Communication: Provide training to staff on the proper care, maintenance, and handling of their uniform. Ensure clear communication with all teams regarding uniform requirements, changes in policies, or updates to the uniform standard. Lead and manage a team, ensuring effective coordination of tasks and maintaining high standards of service

· Budget & Cost Management: Work closely with the Head of Planning & Experience to manage the uniform budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for uniform issuance, repairs, and replacements. Monitor and report on costs associated with uniforms, laundry, and repairs, providing recommendations for cost control.
· Collaboration with Other Departments: Coordinate with other departments (e.g., People Team, Operations, Facilities) to ensure uniforms are fit for purpose and meet operational needs. Support team members in ensuring uniforms are appropriately provided for seasonal or special events.
Health & Safety
· Oversee compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Merlin Entertainments Group Health, Safety and Security Policy.
· Understand risk assessments and ensure reporting of any new risks as appropriate.
· In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner.
· Actively share ideas, comments, and suggestions for improving safety within their work areas with their appropriate line manager
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in wardrobe or uniform management, ideally within a large-scale resort, theme park, or hospitality environment. They should have a strong background in coordinating uniform issuance, overseeing laundry operations, and handling small repairs. Previous experience managing inventory, stock levels, and working with suppliers will be beneficial. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of uniform quality and appearance.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. A background in stock management, garment care, and small repairs is essential. Strong communication skills are required to work effectively with staff and other departments. Proficiency in basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office) and experience with inventory management systems is highly preferred. A background in hospitality or theme park operations would be a distinct advantage.
