What you'll bring to the team

Are you ready to lead a dynamic team while ensuring the safe and smooth operation of world-class rides and attractions at LEGOLAND Florida? As a Ride Technician Team Leader, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining the magic for our guests. This is a hands-on leadership position, where you’ll spend 75% of your time in the field and 25% guiding your team to success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Prioritize the safety of guests and fellow team members, ensuring all operations meet ASTM standards and local regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of ride technicians, offering guidance and training on preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Remove, install, test, and repair electromechanical equipment across rides, attractions, and park facilities.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Lead the team in coordinating and executing scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure continuous safe ride operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work is in compliance with safety guidelines, including ASTM, NEC, state, and local codes.
  • Equipment & Tools: Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in clean and working order. Operate machinery like drills, grinders, and saws when needed.
  • Emergency Response: Act quickly and efficiently during emergency calls, ensuring ride safety for all guests and Model Citizens.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on emerging techniques and technologies to improve maintenance and repair processes.
  • Guest Focus: Provide excellent customer service, creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all park visitors.
  • Mentorship & Training:Responsible for leading a team of ride technicians of different skillsets to coordinate scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to deliver the safe operation of rides and attractions.

About You:

You’re a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You possess strong technical expertise in electromechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC systems (VFD experience preferred). Your leadership will guide your team in both routine maintenance and unexpected repairs, always putting safety first.

Additional Qualifications:

  • General electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repair of both American and international equipment.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in emergency situations.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor that enhances the guest experience.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Experience with VFDs and PLCs (preferred, but not required).

 

Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for a skilled Ride Technician Team Leader with a strong technical background and a passion for safety. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and servicing electromechanical equipment as a technician or engineer.
  • Deep understanding of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining rides and attractions, using the latest industry tools and techniques.
  • Expertise in hardware identification, precision tools, and equipment maintenance, including the ability to:
  • Read micrometers and calipers
  • Use torque wrenches
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including:
  • Preventative maintenance best practices
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems (e.g., linear actuators, solenoids)
  • High-volume submersible and turbine water pumps
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for rides, attractions, and buildings.
  • Familiarity with different types of lubricants and their applications.
  • Basic proficiency in evaluating reports to support maintenance planning and decision-making.

Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
