ROLE SUMMARY

 

The Director of Revenue Management is a key leadership role, charged with maximizing revenue across North America attractions, encompassing admissions and hotel revenue management. As a collaborative and visionary leader, the Director will achieve outstanding revenue outcomes by leveraging data-driven insights, identifying trends, and implementing strategies aligned with business objectives.

This role requires a blend of analytical expertise and creative problem-solving to deliver a best-in-class approach to revenue optimization in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking professional with a passion for analytics, innovation, and a customer-first mindset, complemented by a strong growth orientation.

The Director will establish and nurture relationships with internal partners, including Marketing and Trade. Additionally, the role will work closely with the Global Revenue Centre of Excellence to implement best practices within the region.

Candidates must bring at least 10 years of industry experience—preferably within theme parks, travel, or tourism—and demonstrate a proven track record in leading high-performing teams.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Trading and Budget Delivery

  • Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, and Finance to achieve and exceed revenue targets and financial objectives.
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial and commercial acumen to drive revenue performance and identify market growth opportunities.
  • Represent the region at weekly and monthly trading and business reviews.
  • Monitor and adjust trading decisions as needed to optimize outcomes.

Revenue Strategy and Pricing Expertise

  • Partner with Merlin’s Revenue Centre of Excellence to implement best practices, tools, and value-creation initiatives.
  • Serve as the regional expert on pricing, revenue management, promotions, and channel strategies, tailoring approaches to market conditions.
  • Develop and adjust pricing strategies through analysis, testing, and competitor benchmarking.
  • Leverage historical and real-time data to refine pricing models and maximize revenue potential.
  • Proactively identify regional growth opportunities and collaborate with global teams to scale successful initiatives.
  • Address and escalate issues promptly to the VP Global Revenue.

Regional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing insights into market dynamics, demand drivers, and revenue trends.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, E-Commerce, and Trade teams to identify and resolve roadblocks while exploring new revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure product and promotional launches align with revenue goals and deadlines.
  • Clearly communicate revenue objectives across all business levels to secure engagement and alignment.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the U.S. Revenue Management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Drive talent development by identifying successors, promoting skill growth, and creating a positive work environment.
  • Provide coaching to encourage data-driven analysis and innovative problem-solving within the team.
  • Conduct annual talent assessments and development planning.

Qualifications & Experience

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in pricing, consultancy, or revenue management.
  • Proven leadership in developing collaborative, high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in analytical tools and revenue drivers across multiple business lines.
  • Strong business acumen and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with executive-level presentation experience.
  • Reputation for ethics, integrity, and fostering cross-departmental partnerships.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with dynamic pricing, advanced analytics, and demand planning.
  • Background in theme parks, travel, or tourism industries.
