Position Summary:
Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the facilities team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the facilities team, you will play a major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun and safe environment for our guests with a focus on safety, ensuring that our equipment and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest levels possible. As a Senior Technician you will inspect, repair and troubleshoot equipment and buildings in our facilities that include but not limited to repair electromechanical systems, lighting, HVAC, carpentry and plumbing. Works under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor. The Facilities Senior Technician takes ownership in maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and operation of the facilities under his or her responsibility. Supports the overall goal of maintaining a neat, clean, and comfortable work environment within which the customer may carry out their responsibilities with minimal disruption due to facilities-related issues. Responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks. All functions shall be performed in accordance with Facilities department and LEGOLAND Florida policies, practice and procedures. The lead position manages all aspects of the position and will operate hand tools and power equipment in a safe, reliable manner. Performs other maintenance functions within the theme park and assist other maintenance Model Citizens as deemed necessary by the Facilities Supervisor and Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Facility Technicians to ensure client requests are fulfilled and primary job responsibilities are performed.
- Ability to answer questions from other techs and be well versed in our CMMS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Expected to be familiar with Legoland and Merlin policies and procedures and customer policies and procedures as they relate to your position and job description.
- Expected to be familiar with the layout of the facilities, location of rides, storage rooms, retail shops, restaurants, data centers, mechanical and equipment rooms and warehouse and loading docks.
- Manage the work request system in conjunction with supervisor and Facilities Manager to ensure that requests are completed on a timely basis.
- Perform or oversee daily inspections of each facility to include the exterior and interior of each location and inspect the entire facility regularly and report finding to the supervisor and or Facilities Manager.
- Provide weekly reports to the Facilities Supervisor, updating him on the current status of any projects, open service requests, and related tasks.
- Expected to be familiar with the specifications for and work with the Facilities Technicians
- Work in conjunction with the Supervisor to prepare take-offs for coming projects to ensure that we have the proper materials to do the job.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of supplies and materials, properly source and place orders for both routine and emergency items.
- Work in conjunction with the Supervisor and Facilities Technicians to coordinate and carry out moves, re-configurations, and furniture requests
- Keep tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order.
- Keep safety as #1 priority.
- Maintains liaison with fellow maintenance MCs and other departments.
- Performs related maintenance work as deemed necessary or required.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of MCs.
- Attends weekly staff meetings.
- Utilize techniques and tools necessary to perform safely while performing their work.
- Ensure proper PPE is always used as applicable.
- Observe safety procedures to maintain an accident-free environment.
- Expected to know your assigned procedures for various emergency situations and respond accordingly should they occur.
- Assist the Supervisor with leading the facilities staff on all assigned projects, goals, routine inspections, work orders and project request.
- Help to train and support the team.
- Advanced troubleshooting and working with outside vendors
People:
Supervisors and employees will have consistent communication and meetings with this role (i.e. schedules, payroll, and training). Promote and demonstrate LEGO’s and Merlin’s culture and core values through words and actions. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, effectively managing and documenting employee relations.
Health & Safety:

Physical Demands:
- Work in hard to access areas such as uneven terrain and confined spaces.
- Requires the use of safety goggles, gloves, ear plugs, respiratory devices and all other PPE when appropriate.
- Frequent lifting of moderate to heavy loads (25 – 70lbs). Required to lift and move loads with uneven weight distribution.
- Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.
- Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.
- Hear with surrounding distracting noises. Noise level to possibly exceed 85 decibels.
- Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
- Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.
- Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.
- Hear with surrounding distracting noises.
- Work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
- Present in a neat, well-groomed professional manner.
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
Work Environment:
- Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
- Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

- Thorough understanding of utilities, mechanical and basic electrical maintenance requirements of all equipment, including high-volume submersible and turbine-types water pumps.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities clearly, concisely and maintain an open-door policy.
- Extensive knowledge in preventive maintenance systems.
- Ability to walk into a situation, inspect and check work performed by others, and decide that the attraction is safe to reopen, keeping safety in mind as the top priority.
- Ability to read and evaluate reports, correspondence and use basic math.
