Qualifications & Experience

As the Rides Maintenance Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily upkeep of all rides, spending 50% of your time in the field. Ensure the safety of guests and employees by adhering to ASTM standards, Polk County regulations, and loss prevention guidelines. Coordinate and train ride maintenance engineers, manage annual inspections, and maintain a preventive maintenance program. Support the senior management team as a Technical Services duty manager in our 365-day operation.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist the Head of Ride Maintenance in park maintenance scheduling and budgeting for theme park rides and attractions, including the us of a CMMS system.
  • Follow established maintenance program, including emergency repairs as required to keep down time to an acceptable minimum in all areas of attractions.
  • Ensure internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM, Polk County and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Ensure that all maintenance employees follow the LEGO-established employee policies at all times.
  • Write requisitions for parts and materials for rides, buildings and all other attractions, and then forwards them to manager for approval.
  • Act as one of the Technical Services duty managers.
  • Keep tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and good working order.
  • Keep safety as #1 priority.
  • Assist manager in preparing yearly budgets and constantly monitors budget for maximum efficiency and cost savings without jeopardizing safety of guests and cast members.
  • Assist manager in establishing long and short-range maintenance goals.
  • Assist in designing and expanding a comprehensive training system geared to meet LEGO and Merlin maintenance requirements.
  • Keep informed of modern management techniques and technical methods by attending supplemental courses, seminars, conventions, etc.
  • Keep abreast of governmental, state and local regulations, including OSHA, ASTM and Polk County codes.
  • Assist in conducting weekly staff meetings for the purpose of directing, informing, training and motivating maintenance cast members.
  • Create and maintains teamwork within the maintenance department and all other departments.
  • Periodically accompany maintenance technicians during ride inspections to recheck their methods, techniques and procedures and ensuring that their qualifications are current and complete.
  • Evaluate procedures, methods and ride maintenance member productivity.
  • Formally reviews team leader and employee skills in regard to job performance and discusses written report with same on an annual basis.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Background and Experience:

  • This person must have experience within a heavy industrial or engineering field
  • Rides Maintenance background preferred but not required
  • Must be able to assist and troubleshoot venue breakdowns and be familiar with all types of metal and wood coasters and varied controlled systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and strong people management skills.
  • At least (2) years of experience of leading and managing a team.
  • High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
  • AIMES or NARRSO certification is required within 1 year.

 

Physical Demands:

  • This person must have the ability to sit for sustained periods of time and to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
  • Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions.
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.
  • Hear with surrounding distracting noises.

Pay Range

From USD $75,000.00/Hr.
