Scope of Job:
The Senior Engineering & Controls Manager is an integral part of the Technical Services management team and supports the wider leadership team at the resort. The main duties of this role is to support the function and manage safe and efficient availability of rides, units and facilities. The Senior Engineering & Controls Manager will oversee and ultimately be responsible for all control and diagnostic work on LLF property whilst working with internal and external suppliers, including liaising directly with the ride manufacturer. Daily operations of, all rides and attractions, dealing with breakdowns of show control equipment, routine maintenance of equipment, show lighting, while helping to manage safe and efficient availability of rides/units/facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities will be, but not limited to, the following:
- Be responsible for the operational integrity for 30 rides and attractions. This position is responsible to ensure the highest level of workplace and guest safety.
- Ensure that all rides and facilities are ready for safe operation prior to opening to team members or guests using checklists, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee all planning and scheduling activities for the successful completion of projects that have to do with Ride or show modifications, as well as facility buildings and infrastructure.
- Understand Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ride requirement, as well as regulatory requirements, are fully compliant for LEGOLAND Florida attractions.
- Assist the Ride and Facility teams when doing modifications or control work and head the actions up.
- Assist and be hands-on as required, acting as a guide for repairs and supporting emergency situations.
- Co-manage the implementation and ongoing function of the CMMS program.
- Develop an action plan to successfully implement a predictive maintenance led maintenance regime through continuous improvement and efficiency projects.
- Complete an inventory and critical spares catalogue for each attraction, identifying ‘end of life’ components and obsolete parts.
- Act as project manager within the ride maintenance team for upgrade and retrofit projects.
- Provide a positive work environment through leadership and communication, keeping Management informed on all work.
- Responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of all ride and attraction control, electrical equipment, show themed equipment as well as supporting the facilities structure.
- Responsible for daily inspection of all ride and attraction control, electrical equipment, and show themed electrical equipment that supports the main maintenance team function.
- Lead and design training programs for existing and new employees in the electrical/controls field.
- Maintain good relationship with operations and follow up on problems in the resort leading to downtimes.
- Working closely with the Rides Maintenance team to ensure daily inspections are being completed. Also, to lend mutual aid to Maintenance department during reactive and preventive maintenance to ensure both mechanical and controls are thoroughly checked and complete.
