Under the direction and supervision of the Head of Training and Compliance, the Systems and Technical Author is responsible for the Organization of Planned and Reactive Task Requirements, as well as ensuring Technical Documentation and Scheduled Preventative Maintenance information is accurate and kept up to date. Responsible for supporting the entire Department in use of the Asset Management System as well as Compliance and Reporting needs from the Resort Asset Register.
Main Responsibilities: Systems and Technical Author responsibilities will be, but not limited to, the following:
- Review and edit existing Processes, Work Orders and Technical Documents as required, as well as create and implement new Processes for any additions to the Resort, taking into consideration Manufacturer, Company and Local Legislation requirements.
- Development of Work Order Dashboards to display Key Information.
- Taking Ownership of Code of Safe Working Practice (CoSWP) creation and development to drive Continuous Improvement of these Documents.
- Working with Maintenance and Facilities Teams as well as the Managers to obtain up to date information for working Documents, to include relevant images and references from supporting documentation (O&M Manuals etc.)
- Tracking of all Work Orders throughout the Park wide Asset Management System. Working with Department Managers to close out overdue Work Orders.
- Development of Preventative Maintenance Activities across the Technical Teams and Recording of 3rd Party Inspection Reports/Certificates within Asset Management System.
- Support with Internal and External Audits to ensure Compliance with necessary Policies and Standards and that all Records are Tracked and Available as needed.
- Ensure current versions of Documents are available to the Technical Teams and being appropriately controlled and used for Training and Reference.
- Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials International), NEC (National Electrical Code), NSF (National Science Foundation), OHSA as well as state and local codes.
- Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Health, Safety & Security in the workplace and in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Policy.
- Understand risk assessments within our own.
- Workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate manager.
- Compliance of safe working procedures for work activities within one’s job role, but cognizant of the effects on others prior to the activity/function.
- In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely manner to the duty manager.
