Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our [DEPT] on a permanent basis. The role will be based at Carlsbad, California office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

 

This is a technical, hands-on role, with day-to-day tasks including vigilant monitoring, timely patching, comprehensive support, and meticulous configuration of Merlin's extensive global server estate. You'll also support management of the broader infrastructure components and privileged access management. Additionally, the role extends to providing occasional support for a diverse range of devices, including desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and point-of-sale systems alongside our 2nd and 3rd line teams.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven IT Infrastructure support experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of, and ability to support, Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Experience administering Office 365 including Exchange, SharePoint, Entra ID (Formally Azure AD) etc.
  • Experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (e.g. Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI)
  • Experience administering Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience with VMware ESX 6.5+ at administering and management level.
  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1912 and/or Citrix Desktop as a Service (DaaS) in Citrix Cloud.
  • Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and basic networking (VLANs, ACLs, OSI Model)
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion or similar monitoring solutions
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • As a member of the Global Operations team, we provide support to staff located all around the world. It is essential for this role to either have English as your first language or to possess a strong understanding of English if it is your second language.

Desirable

  • Experience in working within a PCI environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows Clustering technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server product family.
  • ITIL foundation awareness or certification.
  • Experience with automation tools and PowerShell scripting.
  • Full driving license and access to transport.
  • A desire to continually grow your skills and knowledge within Merlin.

Other

  • Travel is possible sometimes overseas, in line with business needs.
  • Flexibility around working hours will be expected, with a requirement to work weekends, bank holidays and evenings/early mornings as necessary.
  • An active involvement in the on-call rota is required.
  • Compensation based upon experience - $85,000 to $100,000

Pay Range

Compensation between USD $85,000.00/Yr.-USD $100,000.00/Yr.
