ROLE SUMMARY
Safety is paramount in everything we do. The Facilities Technician – Generalist is a critical member of the Facilities team, responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of buildings and infrastructure across the resort. This role directly supports guest satisfaction and operational excellence by ensuring all guest-facing and back-of-house areas are clean, safe, fully operational, and maintained to the highest standards. Through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and attention to detail, the Technician helps protect assets, minimize downtime, and uphold the LEGOLAND brand experience.


The Facilities Technician – Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of resort facilities. This role supports daily operations by responding to work orders, conducting routine inspections, and completing preventative and corrective maintenance activities across guest-facing and back-of-house areas.

Qualifications & Experience

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Maintenance & Repairs
o    Perform general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, minor plumbing, lighting repairs, door and hardware repairs, ceiling tile replacement, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
o    Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
o    Respond promptly to service requests and emergency maintenance issues.
o    Maintain interior and exterior areas, ensuring facilities remain in guest-ready condition at all times.


•    Inspections & Quality Standards
o    Conduct daily walkthroughs of assigned areas to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cosmetic deficiencies.
o    Report issues requiring specialized trades or vendor support to the Supervisor.
o    Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and reflect a clean, “as new” presentation.


•    Work Order & CMMS Support
o    Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive, update, and close work orders accurately and timely.
o    Complete daily Time & Material (T&M) documentation before leaving property.
o    Communicate status updates clearly with leadership and stakeholders as needed.


   Collaboration & Resort Support
o    Work collaboratively with fellow Facilities Technicians and other resort departments.
o    Assist with special projects, seasonal transitions, and special event support.
o    Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude when interacting with guests and Model Citizens.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY: 
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. They must ensure they follow safe working procedures for all work activities they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Minimum of 2–3 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade experience preferred.
•    Working knowledge of general maintenance practices including carpentry, plumbing, painting, lighting, and minor electrical repairs preferred.
•    Ability to read and interpret basic technical instructions and manuals.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
•    Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment..


Education:
High school diploma or GED required


Preferred Qualifications:
•    3+ years of hands-on experience in facilities, building, or general maintenance within a commercial, hospitality, resort, or theme park environment.
•    Technical certifications or trade training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related disciplines.
•    Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order tracking and preventive maintenance documentation.
•    OSHA 10 certification or other formal safety training.
•    Experience operating lifts, ladders, and light maintenance vehicles or equipment.
•    Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and asset care best practices.
•    Ability to read basic blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.


Physical Demands:
•    Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing 25–70 lbs., with occasional heavier lifts requiring team assistance.
•    Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
•    Ability to work in confined spaces and navigate uneven terrain.
•    Manual dexterity required to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
•    Ability to hear and communicate clearly in environments with moderate to high noise levels (which may exceed 85 decibels).
•    Visual acuity required to inspect facilities, identify defects, and perform detailed repair work..
•    Use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and sun protection as required


Work Environment:
•    Primary work performed outdoors across landscaped resort areas.
•    Exposure to operational and guest-facing environments.
•    Fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and seasonal demands.
•    May require extended hours, weekends, or holidays during peak seasons or special events


Other Job Requirements:
•    Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments throughout the resort property.
•    Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and direct sunlight.
•    Work may occur in dusty, dirty, wet, or mechanical environments.
•    Fast-paced, guest-focused theme park setting requiring adaptability and responsiveness.
•    May involve working near operational attractions, equipment, or other active resort areas while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times.
•    Performs other duties as assigned
