What you'll bring to the team

The Insights Manager will support critical insights deliverables and projects that influence business decision-making and the company's overall strategy. This role contributes to shaping the organization’s direction by helping to deliver actionable intelligence on market trends, competitive dynamics, and consumer behavior. Acting as a support to Insights leadership and a partner to other divisions within the organization, this role assists in integrating insights across multiple domains to help manage global initiatives, with a particular focus on North America and Global Brand initiatives, but also supporting other regions as required.

 

This position supports high-impact global brand initiatives, positioning the Insights Manager as a key contributor to business growth. The ideal candidate will assist in cross-functional projects that drive innovation, improve decision-making, and align with long-term business objectives.

 

This position is primarily remote; however, occasional in-office presence may be required.

 

Business Trading & Regional Support:

  • Trading Support: Serve as support for the Insights needs for Merlin on ongoing trading reporting for the North America, and other regions as required.
  • Wider Trading Intelligence: Provide support for strategic data implementation/tracking and advisory to Insights; in particular acting as a lead on competitive intelligence, whilst supporting on market trends and understanding trends in performance data (Merlin and Competitors)

Project Management:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Assist in developing and managing project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables to support the successful completion of global business insights projects (as assigned).
  • Data Support: Support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to help generate actionable business insights. Help ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout projects, including data validation from external sources as needed.
  • Reporting: Help prepare and present reports and presentations to management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations based on data insights.

Communications:

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with relevant project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Resource Management: Support Regional Insight Leads and the Global Insights Director in updating and maintaining a centralized insights resource/website, and assist stakeholders (in particular Marketing) with information dissemination to drive action.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking:

  • Data Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis and interpretation (incl. visualization tools), with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights for various regions and teams based on global project outputs.
  • Knowledge Management: Act as a central hub for Insight knowledge management, maintaining the crucial ongoing stream of secondary intelligence, whilst ensuring the vast primary and secondary intelligence collected over time is used by the business as and when appropriate.

Consumer research:

  • Write and launch consumer survey: Demonstrate proficiency in survey writing using various well established methodologies, and launch surveys using internal tools and also collaborating with agency partners
  • Survey data analysis: Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights for various regions and teams based raw survey results.
  • Survey de-brief: Lead survey de-brief by writing high impact survey read-outs and leading stakeholder communications

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Some experience in an insights, research, or analytical role, ideally within a business setting, with exposure to consumer, leisure, entertainment, or retail industries being a plus.
  • Ability to help synthesize market and competitor data from various sources into actionable insights that support business goals.
  • Familiarity with insights reporting and data visualization, with the ability to assist in creating presentations.
  • Experience supporting projects, particularly those involving multiple teams, with an eye toward achieving business outcomes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, especially using Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, data analytics, or a related field is preferred.
